The founder’s story

Why I’m building Kaju

I’m Sherif Ali, founder of Kaju and a former senior software developer. I graduated from the German University in Cairo and lived in Germany for six years, where one app made everyday life noticeably easier: it brought many brands together in one place. Instead of ordering from different platforms in separate orders, I could shop them all at once.

Back in Egypt, I’ve watched local brands grow remarkably since 2023 — more creative, more confident, and more of them every year. But reaching them still means jumping between Instagram pages and separate websites.

That’s why I started Kaju: to bring the same simplicity to Egypt, and to give our local brands the exposure they deserve.

How much does it cost?

Applying and onboarding are free. We take an agreed commission on each sale, but founding brands pay 0% commission on their first 50 orders or their first EGP 50,000 in sales, whichever comes first. We confirm the details on your call.

When and how do I get paid?

Payouts go to your bank account or wallet on a regular schedule after orders are delivered. We confirm the schedule during onboarding.

Who handles delivery and returns?

We work with delivery partners across Egypt and handle the customer side of returns, following a clear policy you agree to up front.

Do I have to sell only through you?

No. Keep your Instagram, your website and your stores. We are an extra channel, not an exclusive one.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes. You control your prices and stock at all times.

When does the app launch?

We are launching in early 2027 on iPhone and Android. Founding brands are onboarded before launch, so you are live on day one.

What happens after I apply?

Our team reviews every application and contacts you within a few working days, on WhatsApp or by email.
